Last year I came so close, losing the race by approximately 162 votes. It was a very challenging experience, but I decided not to give up because I know that the SOMSD board needs more independent thinkers. Our district faces obstacles that cannot be overcome in a short period of time, so making this journey again is not a decision I take lightly. I believe we need people on the board who are motivated to make change that is in the best interest of ALL our children. We need to ensure the building plans are monitored, focus on our plan to integrate our schools, and find more solutions to foster in-house services like paraprofessionals and maintenance services. We must bring SOMSD together!
